	RESPITE AND RETREAT Respite is a necessary form of support for all parents of special needs children. This is part of the service I offer to all parents who have participated in the Kids Code™ program and in need of respite. My country residence is where the respite is offered. It is a small 20 acre property in Busselton, Western Australia which offers a tranquil calm setting as a retreat away from their normal home activities. The homestead features a newly built kindergarten with a disabled toilet for easy access. January 2006 I held the first Summer School for children on the spectrum of Autism. It was a 50 hour stay without their parents. All children received funds through government respite agencies to attend the summer school. They participated in the following activities during their stay: swimming, walking, bike riding, horse riding and trampolining. The swimming was supervised by a qualified instructor who is familiar with the Kids Code™ principles. I have run camps for children for over thirty years on my properties. Mum why not leave everyone behind and have a night or two off! Group retreats for mums may be on the cards this year – register your interest.
